Part 1
Peter
Peter was one of Jesus' closest disciples and he played an important role in Jesus' ministry.
In the Gospel of John, Peter was called, along with Andrew, by Jesus to be his disciple (John 1:40-42). At that time, Peter was a fisherman, and Jesus came to them and invited them to follow him and become "fishers of men".
There is a famous story in the Gospel of Matthew that records the miracle of Jesus walking on water in a storm. Peter told Jesus that if Jesus were him, he would command him to walk across the water. Jesus told Peter to come to him, and Peter started to walk, but when he saw the strong wind, he got scared and started to sink. Jesus reached out and took him, teaching him to be firm in his faith (Matthew 14:22-33).
In the Gospel of Matthew, Jesus asked the disciples about who he was in the eyes of the people, and Peter replied, "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God". Jesus praised Peter and declared that he would build his church and gave him the keys (Matthew 16:13-20).
At the time of Jesus' arrest, Peter denied his relationship with Jesus three times, despite his vow to be with Jesus until his death. This scene occurs in the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, and Luke, where Peter was later deeply remorseful and was forgiven and restored by Jesus after his resurrection (Matthew 26:69-75).
After the resurrection of Jesus, Peter became one of the leaders of the early Christian church. In the book of Acts, Peter began to preach in Jerusalem and Gentile areas, performing many miracles and miracles. He continued to lead the Church, and at the first Sanhedrin in Jerusalem, he opened the way for the evangelization of the Gentiles.
These are some of the stories of Peter, one of the key figures in Jesus' ministry, faithful and respected. Although he also made mistakes, he learned from them and became a courageous and determined disciple, proclaiming the gospel for the name of Christ.
