Part 18
King of the Future
Waiting with Expectation
Jesus embodies not just the historical figure who graced earth as our Savior, but also the awaited king who will resplendently return in glory. The anticipation for his second advent is filled with profound hope and expectation within the hearts of believers.
In his future role as the reigning king, Jesus is described as the ultimate authority and ruler over all creation. He will establish a kingdom characterized by righteousness, justice, and peace. This kingdom is often referred to as the Kingdom of God or the Kingdom of Heaven.
As the king, Jesus will bring about the fulfillment of God's divine plan, restoring all things to their intended state of perfection. He will reign with absolute power and sovereignty, bringing an end to evil and establishing a new era of harmony and divine order.
During his reign, Jesus will judge the living and the dead, separating those who have accepted him as Lord and Savior from those who have rejected him. Believers will enter into the fullness of eternal life in his presence, while those who have rejected him will face the consequences of their choices.
A Whole New World
Throughout our journey on Earth, our understanding remains confined. We grasp the physical realm—the tangible aspects of life such as clothing, vehicles, individuals, and finances—yet the spiritual realm escapes our perception. In the celestial domain, the reality of the spiritual realm will be revealed. In that realm, Jesus Christ will reign as a compassionate king, while God tenderly wipes away every tear from our eyes. Our present challenge lies in wholeheartedly loving and serving Christ amidst the uncertainty of the temporal realm, even when our virtuous acts may not be immediately rewarded. However, we embark on this endeavor with the knowledge that the same Christ whom we deeply admire during the Christmas season will ultimately ascend as the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. As prophesied: "For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and peace there will be no end" (Isaiah 9:6-7).
This Is the Jesus We Fervently Worship
He, who walked the path of humanity, imparted teachings, showered love, brought healing, and cared for the multitudes. With utmost willingness, he offered himself as a sacrifice to provide salvation for our trespasses. It is this very same Christ who shall one day return as the Supreme Sovereign, reigning as the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. His kingdom, marked by limitless love, peace, and joy, will stand for eternity. May we, therefore, devote our adoration to him without reservation, starting from this very moment.
