Bible Chapters About Ascension Day
Matthew 28:16-20: This passage describes Jesus giving his disciples the Great Commission before his ascension, instructing them to go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
Mark 16:19: In this verse, Jesus promises Peter that he will give him the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever he binds on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever he looses on earth will be loosed in heaven.
Luke 24:50-53: This passage depicts Jesus leading his disciples to Bethany, blessing them, and then ascending into heaven from there.
Acts 1:9-11: This section records the scene of Jesus' ascension, with the apostles witnessing Jesus being taken up into the clouds and disappearing from their sight. At this moment, two white-robed angels appear and tell them that Jesus will come again in the same way they have seen him go into heaven.
These verses document the event of Jesus' ascension and the promises and missions associated with it. They are widely read and reflected upon by Christians during Ascension Day to deepen their faith in Jesus and their understanding of the redemption he brought to humanity.
