Locusts Invasion
The plague of locusts is the eighth plague recorded in the Bible. The plague of locusts was God's punishment for Pharaoh, who forced Pharaoh to release the Israelites.
In Exodus 10, God instructs Moses to deliver his message to Pharaoh, saying, "I have brought these disasters upon you and your princes and your people, so that you may know that there is no one like me in all the earth "God commanded Moses to bring locusts into Egypt, covering the entire country and devouring every plant and every remaining crop left in the field.
According to records, swarms of locusts were blown from the east wind and covered the land of Egypt, the number of which was incalculable. They devour all vegetation, including crops, fruit trees and vegetables. The plague brought great devastation and suffering to the Egyptians. Such a plague of locusts is unprecedented.(Exodus 10:1-20)
The plague of locusts represented a challenge to the Egyptian gods, as locusts were considered symbols in Egyptian mythology. It also led to the collapse of Egypt's agricultural, economic, and food supply systems, which dealt a severe blow to the pharaohs and the Egyptian people.
Through this plague of locusts, God demonstrated his sovereignty over nature and control over human existence. It was also a means by God to demonstrate his power and righteousness to Pharaoh and the Egyptians, warning them to release the Israelites.
