Part 10
Thaddeus
One of Jesus' disciples was also named Thaddeus, who is mentioned in the New Testament, and although the details of his story are limited, we can learn a few things about him.
Thaddeus is one of the twelve disciples of Jesus and a member of Jesus' selection. In Matthew and Mark, he is listed as one of the disciples (Matthew 10:3; Mark 3:18).
Thaddeus is also sometimes called "Lebbaeus", a nickname mentioned in Mark and Luke (Mark 3:18; Luke 6:16). This could mean he has two different names, or an alias for him.
In the Book of Acts we can find more information about Thaddeus. In Acts 1:13 he is mentioned as "the son of Jacob". James here may refer to James, another disciple.
According to some historical documents, Thaddeus is said to have preached the Gospel after the resurrection of Jesus. Some sources also mention places where he evangelized including Arabia and Mussolini (present-day Uzbekistan).
