Part 12
Judas lscariot
The story of Judas Iscariot, Jesus' disciple, one of the Twelve, is a tragic one.
Judas was chosen by Jesus as one of the Twelve Apostles and is mentioned many times in the New Testament (Matthew 10:4; Mark 3:19; Luke 6:16). He followed Jesus along with other disciples and witnessed many miracles and teachings.
Unfortunately, Judas is best known for his betrayal of Jesus. According to the "New Testament", before Jesus was judged and crucified, Judas betrayed Jesus to the chief priests. He delivered Jesus to the religious leaders of the day for thirty silver coins.
Judas' betrayal had a profound effect on Jesus, but it also took a heavy toll on Judas himself. According to records, Judas felt remorse after realizing his actions and tried to return the silver coins. However, his repentance did not prevent Jesus from being arrested and executed. Judas committed suicide shortly after Jesus was sentenced to death.
Judas' betrayal is part of the Passion story and a tragic event. This story reminds us of the dangers of fraud and betrayal, and encourages us to recognize the importance of repenting and seeking forgiveness.
